ST. MARYS, Ga. -- The Cumberland Island National Seashore is set to reopen June 2nd.
Once the seashore reopens, the ferry will resume running its normal schedule.
Until that time, the National Seashore is closed to visitation through June 1 due to clean-up being done there after Tropical Storm Beryl.
Fred Boyles, Superintendent for the Cumberland Island National Seashore said, "The National Seashore staff has begun cleaning up downed trees and ensuring the park is ready once again for park visitors."
Boyles said the campgrounds at Sea Camp and Stafford Beach will also re-open Saturday. However, he cautioned visitors hiking on some of the trails may still encounter downed trees.
The park's Land and Legacy tours will start running Saturday as well.
Visitors with ferry and camping reservations through June 1st should contact the ferry reservation office at 877-860-6787 for rescheduling or for refunds.
For any other general park questions, visitors are asked to call the park at 912-882-4336, extension 254.
