GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. -- The Glynn County Police Department is investigating a shooting at Townsend Park.
Captain Marissa Tindale, spokesperson for the Glynn County Police Department, said officers were dispatched to the park located on Townsend Street after reports of gunshots.
Tindale said arriving officers found Tyler Scott Harris who had been shot twice.
Emergency personnel transported Harris to Southeast Georgia Health System and later transferred him to Savannah Memorial. Tindale said Harris is listed in critical condition.
Tindale said witnesses told police Harris had gone to the park to sell a firearm to a black male.
While Scott was at the park allegedly selling the firearm, Tindale said the black male tried to take the firearm from Harris. When he did, police said he allegedly shot Harris before fleeing the park. Tindale said Harris was not shot with the gun he was attempting to sell.
Officers investigated the shooting, Tindale said, and eventually arrested three people in connection with the shooting.
Police arrested 18-year-old Ladarrius Lawrence and his 20-year-old brother Lorenzo Lawrence. Tindale said police also arrested a 16-year-old juvenile. All three are from Brunswick.
Tindale said the three are charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, armed robbery and aggravated assault.
The investigation is still ongoing, Tindale said.
