ST. MARYS, Ga. -- A popular destination across the border in Georgia for gas is reopening with new owners and 75 new jobs.

The Pilot Travel Center off Interstate 95 is taking shape for next Monday's opening.

Pilot is the new owner of the travel center that has been closed for several years and once operated under the Cisco name.

That operation was shut down following an investigation that revealed gas was mislabeled and pumps miscalibrated. The activity cost customers $7 million in 2005 and 2006.

Several people were prosecuted and are serving prison time.

The Pilot operation, according to the owners, is projected to generate more than $5 million in state and local taxes.

Some of the 75 new jobs have not been filled.  Applications are still be accepted on line, www.pilotflyingj.com.
